Perth Observatory Challenge: A Free Space History Education Program

The Perth Observatory Challenge is a free, curriculum-aligned STEM education program for West Australian primary schools delivered by Makers Empire and the Perth Observatory.

Through the Perth Observatory Challenge course, West Australian primary school students and teachers will learn about the heritage of the Perth Observatory and its role in helping us understand the solar system and universe. In this challenge course, students will learn the importance of understanding the solar system and stars, how the Perth Observatory helps us observe the planets and stars, how we can apply that observation to space exploration, and how we can create new technology that helps us explore space.

The Perth Observatory is Western Australia’s oldest observatory, located 35 km east of Perth in the picturesque suburb of Bickley. For over 125 years, it has proudly served Western Australia and remains committed to public education through its Day Tours for schools and Night Sky Tours for the public.
