2025 Projects: Open for Expressions of Interest From Schools

Kids in Space Mission Patch

Primary schools across Australia are invited to submit an expression of interest for the Andy Thomas Space Foundation’s Kids in Space 2025 program. This program encourages students to engage with the nation’s growing space ecosystem, introduce them to space technology and jobs within the space industry and spark their interest in a space career. Schools selected will be awarded a STEM package valued at $6,999 including professional development for teachers, Makers Empire tools and resources and a student showcase event. This program will be delivered to around 100 schools in Australia in terms 1-3, 2025.  Expressions of interest close November 15th, 2024.

Primary schools in the Port Macquarie, Griffith and Leeton regions of NSW are invited to submit an expression of interest for Naturally Brave 2025 with Bushfire Kids Connect and Growing With Gratitude. Naturally Brave delivers a pioneering and engaging STEM program designed to promote awareness of natural disasters and encourage resilience and empathy in students. Schools selected will be awarded a STEM package valued at $8,500  including professional development for teachers, Makers Empire tools and resources and a student showcase event. This program will be delivered to 20 schools in Port Macquarie, Griffith and Leeton in terms 3-4, 2025.  Early bird expressions of interest close November 25th, 2024.

Primary schools in the Eyre Peninsula and Adelaide regions of South Australia are invited to submit an expression of interest for Naturally Brave 2025 with Bushfire Kids Connect and Growing With Gratitude.  Naturally Brave delivers a pioneering and engaging STEM program designed to promote awareness of natural disasters and encourage resilience and empathy in students. Schools selected will be awarded a STEM package valued at $8,500 including professional development for teachers, Makers Empire tools and resources and a student showcase event. This program will be delivered to 20 SA schools in the Eyre Peninsula and Adelaide, SA, in terms 3-4, 2025. Early bird expressions of interest close November 25th, 2024.

Secondary schools in the Cairns regions of Queensland are invited to submit an expression of interest for the Advanced Manufacturing Future Skills Cairns Program with the Queensland Government’s Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing & Water. This STEM, additive manufacturing and 3D printing program will be delivered to up to seven secondary schools in Cairns in terms 3-4, 2025. Schools selected for this program will be awarded a STEM package valued at $7,50  including professional development for teachers, Makers Empire tools and resources and a student showcase event. Expressions of interest close December 2nd, 2024.

Junior and secondary schools in the Townsville regions of Queensland are invited to submit an expression of interest for the Advanced Manufacturing Future Skills Townsville School Program with the Queensland Government’s Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing & Water. This STEM, additive manufacturing and 3D printing program will be delivered to up to seven junior and senior secondary schools in Townsville in terms 3-4, 2025. Schools selected for this program will be awarded a STEM package valued at $7,500 including professional development for teachers, Makers Empire tools and resources and a student showcase event. Expressions of interest close December 2nd, 2024.

South Australian primary schools are invited to register an expression of interest to be part of the 2025 Street Smart Primary Road Safety program with RAA, the Lifetime Support Authority (LSA). This engaging program is designed to promote awareness of road safety and empower students as problem solvers. The Street Smart Primary Road Safety program will be delivered to 5 metropolitan SA schools and 5 regional SA schools in terms 2-3, 2025. Schools selected for this program will be awarded a STEM package valued at $6,499  including professional development for teachers, Makers Empire tools and resources and a student showcase event. Early bird expressions of interest close December 2nd, 2024.

High schools in South Australia are invited to submit an expression of interest for the Construction & Industry Training Board (CITB) SA‘s Careers Under Construction program. It introduces students to the building and construction industry through a design thinking problem-solving methodology. It uses 3D design to create solutions for a construction problem in a local context. Schools selected will be awarded a STEM package valued at up to $5,500 including professional development for teachers, Makers Empire tools and resources and a student showcase event. This program will be delivered to up to 20 SA schools in terms 1-2, 2025. Expressions of interest close December 6th, 2024.

STEM Advanced Manufacturing Moreton Bay Future Skills School Program with Queensland Government’s Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing & Water for 8 Moreton Bay secondary schools in term 3-4, 2024. This program delivers a STEM, additive manufacturing and 3D printing program.  Expressions of interest closed June 10, 2024.

Western Sydney Advanced Manufacturing Industry Schools Program for 10 primary and junior secondary schools in the Western suburbs of Sydney. This program will deliver a pioneering STEM, additive manufacturing and 3D printing for teachers and students. This program will run in terms 3-4 for 10 schools. Expressions of interest closed end May 2024.

Aurora Inclusive Space Education Program with The Andy Thomas Space Foundation for 7+ South Australian schools catering to students living with a disability. The program offers engaging and accessible space education opportunities designed specifically for students and young people living with a disability. Expressions of interest closed end May 2024.

Street Smart Road Safety education program with the RAA for 10 primary schools in metropolitan SA and 5 primary schools in the Murray Bridge region during terms 2-3, 2024. This program is designed to promote awareness of road safety and empower students as problem solvers. Expressions of interest closed April 30, 2024.

NSW Space Discovery with the Andy Thomas Space Foundation for 16 NSW primary schools in terms 3 & 4 2024, and 16 more schools in terms 1 & 2, 2025 in the lead up to the 76th International Astronautical Congress: IAC-2025 Sydney. Based on Kids in Space to encourage students to engage with the nation’s space ecosystem. Expressions of interest closed March 31, 2024.

STEM Advanced Manufacturing South West/Toowomba Future Skills School Program with Queensland Government’s  Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing & Water for 5 Toowoomba/SW Darling Down primary & junior secondary schools in term 3-4, 2024. Expressions of interest closed March 31, 2024.

Careers Under Construction with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) for 20 high schools across SA during terms 1 & 2, 2024. The program introduces students to the construction industry through a design thinking problem-solving methodology.
